We’ve long spoken of Jackie Bradley Jr as one of the nicest guys in baseball. Last night, he was one of the most clutch. On a night that the Red Sox desperately needed a win, having just been flattened in the Bronx in a lifeless, 1-3 stand, JBJ came up big with at least one of his patented web gem catches and, most importantly, a big two-run shot that broke an eighth inning tie and put the Sox up for good.

The point that must be made about this home run is just how far it went. On a night on which Fenway was celebrating the anniversary of Ted William’s red seat shot, JBJ damn near knocked one that far.

After that, it was all ski jumps and Gatorade baths.
