In a season chock full o’ suck, we rejoice in the little things. Beating the mediocre Jays is akin to bragging about being the tallest midget, but it’s all we’ve got.

The Red Sox blew another lead and went into extras to beat the Jays. This was truly a case of the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The good: The Red Sox exploded for seven runs in the eleventh inning. Napoli hit just the 17th homer ever to reach the fifth deck at Skydome (Yes, I will always call it Skydome). Pedroia and Craig also homered.

The bad: Will Middlebrooks, Daniel Nava and Mookie Betts were a combined 3-for-17.

The ugly: Middlebrooks struck out four times, including once against a postion player doing mop-up duty in the eleventh. We should have kept Jenny Dell.

Joe Kelly starts Wednesday following his mystery injury in his last outing. After back-to-back extra-inning wins, I’m afraid we’re due for a one-hitter.
