Between cancer, depression and recurring cancer, it’s been one unfortunate event after another for Jerry Remy. His latest drama truly pushes things to the “unthinkable” zone. Like a lot of people, I figured he may have called his last Sox game, forever. But a recent announcement from NESN, confirming that Rem will be gone for the remainder of the 2013 season, hints at a possible return in 2014.
@alexis_b82 I was never a fan. He's just one of those players who you don't like if he's not playing for your team, but do like if he is.
@alexis_b82 I didn't think much of him prior to last year when he threw down tens of thousands of dollars to send Petaluma Little League parents to see their kids play during the World Series.
They had an unofficial Jonny Gomes day for one of our games on the west coast recently. They had the Mayor of Petaluma there and loads of others showing their appreciation for him.
I think they said during the game that he financially supports something like nine kid's teams inn the Petaluma area, and a high school team as well.
@Jennie@alexis_b82I did not know that. My only recent experience was him on the Rays. And dear Lord, what is thishttp://nesn.com/2013/02/jonny-gomes-david-ross-throw-on-some-alligator-hunting-apparel-down-in-fort-myers-photo/
The strike outs have a sponsor? Good lord. "that outfielder snot rocket is brought to you by clorox antibacterial wipes"
I was wondering when the subject of Joe C. would be breached this weekend.
And note how Rish has the same note-keeping method as Joe.

I actually don't mind the change. Remy and DO has gotten stale and feels so damn forced. Maybe its time to retire for good.
Nice one Red. I hope he can get it together soon and be back next year. But the tragedy is the poor woman who passed. That is where the sorrow should go.
And come on out tonight and join some of us SG'ers before the game.
