Gone But Not…Gone

Here I am, trying desperately to get pumped up for the 2013 and quiet the voices in my head that warn of a .500 season, and I see this.

“I thought I did a hell of a job in Boston,” Valentine said. “I thought what had to be done there was done except for winning a pennant. But Connie Mack wasn’t going to win with that team.”

Is this a complete lack of self-awareness, refusal to take any accountability, or just old-fashioned insanity? I’m going with the latter, because I can’t name a single, positive thing Valentine did for the team. And his “hell of a job” sure skyrocketed his career. He went from commentator to Red Sox manager to…athletic director at Sacred Heart University.

Guys like him just need to fade away and not piss us off, yes?

The boston locals and media wanted bobby bad to teach these so called spoiled brats whats what, the zeal was so great it blinded them to to the fact that this guy was a complete Ahole. Lesson learned hopefully but doubt it.

Who?  Wasn't that guy with Mets or something?  Anway, since Tito left, I'm hopeful that Farrell will be able to fill his shoes.  #MemoryHole

You know Denton, I was one of the people defending the hire (eventhogh it was a LL job and not Ben). I thought he would be a difference maker. And he sure did, by taking the team down with the ship called SS Ego.

Do you have some whiskey to share?

Let's look at the positives here. At least Valentine won't be back doing baseball commentary.
