I’ve thought about it some more, and the answer is still “no.”
I suggest that they jump at the opportunity to hire me while I’m still available.

I don’t get the fascination w/Farrell. It was under his watch that both Beckett & Lester became cutter happy and lost velocity off their 4 seamers. Obviously Beckett’s conditioning (or lack of) & Lester becoming stubborn and dour didn’t help but Farrell had no effect on that either.

You bring up a good point about the Red Sox and their obsessions. Aside from Renteria and Lugo, there was Dice-K, who they fixated to the tune of a $50 million posting fee just to talk with him, and Gonzalez, who they traded after less than 2 seasons. If what we’ve read about the clubhouse issues in Toronto are true, the Sox could be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. I don’t recall any of their obsessions actually working out in the long run. And to give up a decent player or prospect to a division rival? That would compound the stupidity. It’s not 2007 anymore, Red Sox!
