I remember my heart beating so fast that I thought it would jump out of my chest. That little toss from Foulke to Mink seemed to take forever to get there. Then – POW- all the frustration from 1967 onward vanished in tears of joy. My wife kissed me, but all I could say was “What do I do now?”
I wish the comments from that glorious night hadn’t been lost, I’d love to read what I had to say in the moment.

3 or us were sitting on a couch in my living room, holding our breath waiting for that last out and the MIRACLE we never thought we’d see. The Red Sox Moon was glowing outside and all was right with the world. Thank you for the flashback—— it still makes me smile.
