When I heard he wasn’t allowed to pick his own coaching staff I wondered just why the hell he would have taken the job…and then I realized that he was still getting paid in US currency and that everything counts in large amounts. Fortunately they have the funds to overpay their next manager, ’cause NO ONE is going to want to take market rates to work for this team. Especially if the same riders tacked on to Bobby V’s contract apply to the next guy. Meanwhile, Tito goes to the Injuns. Which seems like he’s still being punished for September of 2011. I just finished watching game 6 of the 2007 ALCS. Therapy. That shot by Drew remains one of the weirder hero-moments in Sox history.

I think DeMarlo would be a great choice- if he wants the job. At his point there are probably a lot of would be managers that will probably avoid us like the plague. Don’t you think the whole coaching staff should get pink slips to and start over with everyone. I’ve also heard rumors that Ryne Sandburg may be on our list. Not a horrid choice porbably but I’m hoping DeMarlo all the way. Everyone have a great off season- hope we come out of the gates swinging in more ways than one in 2013.

I was bangin’ the drum for DeMarlo last year….I think he’d get the team’s attention whenever he wanted it. The Sox missed out on Bo Porter…poor bastard took the Houston job so maybe he’s not all that saavy.Thanks for your efforts this year, Red.
