I think we can all agree, the 2012 season sucked and nobody should be sorry to see it end. It’s October 4th and I’ve got my sights set on the 2013 season. That’s the thing about being a Red Sox fan, they’ll drive you to the brink of a multi-state killing spree, they’ll tear your heart out crush your hopes, but the real fans will get up, shake the dust from their favorite player jersey, and keep on rooting. It’s just what we do, it’s who we are.

The 2011 season ended like so many per-2004 seasons, and we were all right back here in April, giddy with the return of baseball. And the season was a complete failure. There were so few memorable games it’s almost hard to believe they played 162 of them. The record they finished with is the worst since I was a year-and-a-half old (62-100 in 1965). That was a long time ago.

But it’s over. It wasn’t easy and it hurt, but we got through it. And we’ll all be back here next season, starry-eyed optimists ready to go to battle with our team.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who stops by to visit with us. This was the ninth season Red and I have been blogging about the Red Sox, and for me, it was by far the most difficult. But Red and I wouldn’t be doing what we do without each and every one of you reading this. Thank you.

Nurse your end-of-season hangovers and root for anyone who isn’t the Yankees. Spring will be here before you know it, I promise.
