hayes It was an excellent trip. Managed three trips into Boston. Two Sox games – 4-3 loss to the Jays on the 9th and the WIN against the MFY on the 11th! Amazing to be there for a win against the Evil Empire. Also spent a day in Boston looking at Mrs ESF’s old neighbourhood (the South End). Went to Charlie’s for breakfast, then dropped into her local convenience store. The same guys are still running it (seven years after she left) and they were very pleased to see her – and me. Went to look at her old place, and a couple of places where she worked. Then went up the Pru to get some bird’s eye views of the city. Went to Rockport one day, which was great – like an American Cornwall! Went to Lexington and Concord for some history – really enjoyed that. Went shooting with my father-in-law and his mate the gun nut at a local gun club. Got to shoot some serious hardware, which was superb. Turns out I’m a pretty decent shot with a rifle. The rest of the time was just hanging out time with the family, which was the main reason we went of course. We don’t see Mrs ESF’s folks very often (once a year if we’re lucky) so it was great to have two whole weeks with them. Probably coming back in 2014. Can’t wait!

TransplantedSoxFan Well, the Sox not winning is a problem. When the team invents new ways to suck, theres not much to talk about. Now, the f-bomb tirade is always reserved for those moments when the MFY’s need encouragement. I think this will pick up a bit during the hot stove time frame, then spring. Until then, lets root for the MFY’s to go on a 10 game losing streak.

Coming onto this site was the low point of my Sox season. This site always rocked … til now. Been logging in every couple of month for the last 4 + yrs. Its crickets on here … articles with 2 comments! Used to be 200. And of the two, both are nothing more than some moron having an epileptic f-bomb fit. Whoever Denton is, glad to see he is still bringing it nightly
