Red Sox Beat Yankees, And Other Things Nobody Cares About

by Denton on September 12, 2012

Has there ever been less excitement following a walk-off win against the Yankees in September? Not that I can remember. But when you suck all year and are all but mathematically eliminated in August, one win doesn’t make up for it.

So here are a few other things I don’t care about:

  • The new Bourne movie
  • How Josh Beckett is doing with the Dodgers
  • Anything to do with the Kardashians, Jersey Shore, or Charlie Moore
  • Rumors of a Led Zeppelin reunion
  • The price of Facebook stock

Please feel free to add to the list in the comments…

I was excited about the win. But then, I've been hitting the absinthe.

And, for the record, I would be psyched about a zeppelin reunion as well.

Folks at the park also get pretty damn excited about Sweet Caroline and the wave. The point is, today's media coverage (and fans who call in to the radio stations) would rather talk about Steven Ridley's running game or Wes Welker's contract status than the Red Sox win.

@Denton You will be pleased to hear that I did not join in any of the Sweet Caroline nonsense at either of the games I attended.

Have to disagree with this. Folks at the park seemed to be pretty damned excited about it, as did the players and everyone I 'watched' the game with online. A win against the Yankees, especially a walk-off, is always fun and when it helps push the Yanks down in the standings it's pretty meaningful, even if the Sox aren't in it.

@toeingtherubber Speaking for myself and Mrs ESF, we were incredibly excited by the win.  My first Yankees game and it ended with a walkoff in our favour.  Absolutely brilliant experience.
