Already, Spring Training A Drag

by Denton on March 18, 2012

We think about it, dream about it all winter. Truck Day, pitchers and catchers reporting, Spring Training. Then it arrives and seems like it will never end. The games are beyond meaningless and the line-up cards look foreign even to the most diehard fan. Today we get to see the likes of Kroeger at DH, Repko patrolling center and Hassan in left. The start of the season seems like forever. On a day that might hit 75 degrees in Boston, it feels like there should be baseball at Fenway. I’m sure it’s just as much a drag for the players who thrive on competition.

At least, on March 18th, we’ve heard the last of the corny Irish accents for another year.

Well with Miami now having lost Peyton Manning, Brandon Marshall, and Yerimah Bell, I can safely that this season is going to be a wash for Dolphins fans. If you guys don't hear from me in the fall, it'll just mean that I threw myself in front of the nearest city bus.

"shipping out to boston" makes me sad now. (just heard it for the first time...).

@BB.13 I guess my sister in laws father found a way to work security and now gets paid to attend. He was there fo that game as well but called him a "no name".

This is why I never get excited about spring training (or football pre-season).

You think it'll be good, then you remember how dull it actually is!

Sounds like the names of a stripmall in the lineup.
