The Globe had an interesting piece on the whereabouts of former Red Sox players. Most surprising to me was that Brad Penny — who I’d figured to be working the counter at his own Baskin-Robbins franchise in some sleepy California town (“Have you tired the Gold Medal Swirl? It’s f$%king awesome?”) — is still pulling a paycheck in baseball. Sure, it’s with the SoftBank Hawks in Japan, but still, it’s $4 million more than I’m gonna make this year.
