Don’t be surprised if sometime around the middle of May you catch MLB highlights and see Manny Ramirez at the plate. Manny took BP in a batting cage and caught the eye of a few American League teams in need of a DH. Ramirez requested reinstatement after retiring from baseball following his second drug test violation. His suspension was reduced from 100 games to 50 and he might be coming back. And guess which team is at the top of the list in interest? The birthplace of steroid use in Major League Baseball, Oakland, of course.

English Sox Fan Loved it. As you said, everything was closed but did make it to Land's End and did the drive you suggested (despite my Cornwall contact trying to talk me out of it). Got lost in St. Ives and drove on what looked like a pedestrian walkway but got out without an arrest. :) Wanted to get to Port Isaac but didn't see any signage for it (next time!). I tried to "wing it" to Kynance Cove (before I realized my iPad's GPS WAS, in fact, working) but ended up in St. Mawes instead. But the scenery there was stunning as well. The drive from Southampton to Penzance, although long, was quite stunning as well. I saw that there's a open top bus that goes around the peninsula IN SEASON so perhaps next time I can plan better. I should have a free flight from American Airlines by the summer (although my new job has no paid time off - WTF???), so perhaps the summer after. Thank you for asking. :)

English Sox Fan I had fantastic weather for the whole trip. There was a bit of fog that made me nervous driving because of the recent (Nov.) pileup but, other than that, I think it only rained for like 10 minutes (and it was barely a sprinkle) for the entire 10 days I was there. And the first frost was the day I was leaving.
