The Surviving Grady Red Sox Podcast, with Special Guest Stewart O’Nan

by Red on July 18, 2011

Because we can only impose so much of our own blabbering on people, for the latest SG podcast, we went out and got a legitimate high-falutin’ guest: Stewart O’Nan, co-author of Faithful. In the span of a half hour, we manage to discuss 2004, 2007, JD Drew, Cesar Crespo, Josh Reddick, the Sox’ October chances and Denton’s community service.

Among the insightful bits, Stewart tells us that Scribner, publisher of Faithful, was originally against using the infamous A-Rod/Tek “smell the glove” photo, as they feared it would “turn off women.”

Not the women who read this blog, hombres.

And thanks again to Stewart for his time and insight.

I just subscribed to the podcast and playing it through my AppleTV thingy* is a genuinely surreal experience.

* I believe 'thingy' is the proper technical term for any black Apple box.

Can;t listen to the podcast until later.

That photo really revs my engine. If you know what I mean. Wink wink nudge nudge.

I am almost positive that 'muddy chicken' is a thinly veiled cock joke.
