Holiday Gift Buying for Red Sox Fans?

by Red on November 27, 2010

Might we suggest one of our many shirts, which can be yours for the ridiculously low price of just $14 and free shipping? You can order them right here. Easy as Javier Vasquez!

And for those folks on your list who may not be computer-savvy, Surviving Grady: The Book is a splendid introduction to the world of lunacy that is us. It’s also the most booze-addled chronicle of the 2004 Red Sox season that we know of. You can get it at Amazon–right now!

For everyone else, I’d just go with this:

My daughter loved these Sherlock shows & is looking for the dvd.

This was my initial guess about what it would be like.  The Clarkson/Hammond/May chemistry and humour is not easily recreated.

*will try one episode and see*

I know the name but have never watched it.  Heard good things, as I recall.

You should look for the BBC's recent "Sherlock" episodes (3, I think).  It's a modern re-telling of Sherlock Holmes - Mrs ESF and my Mum loved it.

Cuz there's certainly nothing to say about the football game.  BORINGEST MATCH UP EVAH.

Saw it.  Not nearly as witty.  Hoping for the best as it goes on - knew it wouldn't be as good.  Hosts aren't that engaging and all looks a bit forced.  Cars were good - screaming around in a timed straight mile was fun.  Interview with Buzz was terrible.

The Walking Dead has been excellent so far.  The end of episode 4 was superb.

*is also loving Boardwalk Empire at the moment*

I don't know if I am allowed to talk about it since it's not baseball. ;)

I haven't seen it yet, actually. It's on at the same time as The Walking Dead first of all. I am also convinced it won't be as good as the original, so I am afraid to watch it and hate it.

Alexis - have you seen the US Top Gear yet?  Pale imitation or really rather good?

How dare you talk about non baseball related topics on this site. Why when I was kid we used to send letters on pigeons to discuss the box scores, which were delivered three or four days after the game was played. None of this dang fangled internets.

Phewey on you.

I'm not understanding the hate that is dished out here?  While this may have been created due to baseball angst, I dont think there's any issue in us talking about other topics. even topics that arent sports related.
Now during a baseball game...I do have to say sometimes we get sidetracked and probably need to focus on the game at hand. :)
That said....Hope everyone got enough Turkey and stuffing.

Bullshit.  The football and hockey crap is bad enough.

Since when did manchester united (and I only know that name from the movie The Day After Tomorrow) have anything to do with Grady Little and/or Pedro Martinez?

Well, we love ESF on here because you have to be a diehard to love the Sox and be British (a glutton for punishment).

Some of us have lived in Europe and appreciate a good game of Footy.

And until someone turns on the gas for the hot stove (a trade for A-Gonz, hear me Theo), any topic will work.

VJ - froze my bollocks off over there today but it was worth it.  Another comeback win for us. ;)

They are shameless, but they have bills to pay just like us.

Tottenham v Liverpool on Fox Soccer Channel at 11am tomorrow for those with nothing else to do on a Sunday morning.

*will be at the game*

You are truly shameless.

ESF, a friend did get me watching a british show called Misfits over the weekend and I loved it. Are you familiar with it?

If ya wanna sell shirts, ya gotta show the whole package.

Calm down fella, nobody's stopping you talking about baseball if you want to.

But as VJ says, there's nothing much going on in baseball world to talk about at the moment anyway.
