The Good Times Are Behind Us

by Denton on September 4, 2010

Was this really just a month ago? The Red Sox were literallyfighting for a play-off spot. Now they are on the verge of being double-digits behind the Yankees. It frightens me to think what Red will come up with for posts once the Sox are officially eliminated.

There's no way you can have a vacation without a watering hole.

Glad to hear it's going well. :)

ESF...just logging on here. My niece's condition improves daily...she has had seizures all her life and so it complicates matters.  She improves daily tho..thanks for asking :)

Cornwall.

*has got a beachside apartment for a week, can't wait*

I bet if he heals over the winter, he would be a good DH somewhere. But he has said he is hanging it up.

Lowell's been playing with a broken rib?  Seriously???

Where are you going?

I'm putting it up here so we can have a DC Palooza...Anyone interested can come along. However, we are not responsible for anyone's behavior and/or bail.

I bitch, but todays effort (7 IP, 3 ER) is good enough on most days to win. But that only applies when our offense shows up.

The weekend of the 18th, the MFY's are at Baltimore. Could be a reason to drink? As if we need a reason. A good day to heckle the MFY's.

Coming in head first?

Could be. Jon and Clay came into the season in great shape. The others, not so.

Is it just me, or do our starters not named Clay or Jon stop being effective after the 6th inning?

Ass hat.......

Should have hit Quentin again... Dammit.

Red, you're invited. But you must promise to keep your ass-less chaps at home. Agreed?

HS - your old mate is up to his old brassing tricks again. ;)

We spend a lot of time together, so like to keep seperate online activities. :-D

Hi mate.

Good news for me this week:

*will miss his home debut - will be on holiday*

Hi kids....

Just saw the Manram K.... Nice Lackey.

We'll see how this goes. I definitely can do the DC thing, as I'll be there. I may get a room so I don't try and go back to where I am staying at. I like being able to stumble to a bed.

Mrs ESF killed a big spider for me in the living room earlier.

I'm a big wimp about dealing with them while they're alive.  She's a big wimp about dealing with them after they're dead, so I went in and disposed of the corpse.

Biggest wimp of them all though is the cat, who discovered the large arachnid and quickly decided he didn't want to get involved, running away and leaving it to us to deal with.

*loves his cat*

More like it. :)

*can't get used to hearing the name Beckham in a baseball game*

Funny that we're wearing the awful hanging sox caps tonight.

Funny because we haven't worn them for quite some time - not at all this season if my memory serves me.  Just a few days ago, the disappearance of the sox caps from the field was raised to Amalie Benjamin in her mailbag.  She put the question to someone high up at the club.  He denied there was a "routine" for when they were worn (despite the fact that they were always worn on Fridays) and said that there was no reason why they weren't being worn now, and they may even be seen again sometime.

Personally, I reckon they'd never have been worn in a game again if the issue hadn't been raised and brought to the club's attention.  I reckon they'd been ditched for game wear (whether due to poor sales, poor reaction or just indifference), but guessed they'd quickly be trotted out after the mailbag publicity, just to "prove" they hadn't been ditched.

*thinks they should never have been used for on-field action*

Blimey.

that seriously has to hurt.

That's another game I was uninvited to. :(

Trying to knock the ball out of the catcher's hand.

although, Lackey only gave up 2 earned runs. it just seems like a ton more because our offense can't do anything.

Could be. Jon and Clay came into the season in great shape. The others, not so.u00c2u00a0
