VJ – I’m always optimistic, but I think we’re fighting a losing battle this year. Whenever we seem to be getting it together, something goes wrong. Injuries mainly, but a patch of poor form from Dice-K or Lackey, or just a bad game or two to fuck up our rhythm,

We’re always just that little bit short when a long, consistent run is needed.

Hopefully we’ll grab the wild card, but I won’t be shocked if we don’t.

But we have fought valiantly, considering the incredible raft of injuries we’ve had to deal with.
