Signed, sealed and delivered: Beckett will be kicking arse in a Red Sox uniform through 2014. The deal is rumored to be a $68 million extension. NESN has some video of the press conference.

Watch Beckett’s eyes scanning the room while Theo is talking. He is clearly calculating what order to take people out in case something goes down. More than a little scary.

But not as scary as the Sox rotation for the next several years:

With Beckett signed aboard until the 2014 season, solidifying the Red Sox’ rotation for the next five years.

Jon Lester signed an extension last spring that will keep him in a Red Sox uniform through 2013 for $28.75 million (with a $13 million option for 2014). Daisuke Matsuzaka is signed for three more years, while John Lackey will be a member of the Red Sox through 2014. Tim Wakefield, at 43 years old, is signed through 2011.

And don’t forget Clay Buchholz is under the Sox control for a few more years. Pretty solid rotation for the foreseeable future, eh?
