Alright, that may be stretching a bit, but check it: The line-up for this year’s Hot Stove Cool Music show includes Tinted Windows, a group comprised of Adam Schlesinger from Fountains of Wayne, James Iha from Smashing Pumpkins, Taylor “Mmm Bop” Hanson on vocals and your high school shop teacher, Cheap Trick’s Bun E. Carlos, on drums. That’s close enough, ain’t it? Plus you’ll also get State Radio, The Low Anthem and Peter Gammons’ Hot Stove All-Stars, featuring the unstoppable Bill Janovitz, Bronson Arroyo, Ken Casey from the Dropkicks and ass-kicker extraordinaire Kay Hanley, who has nightly pillow fights with Heidi Watney in the arena of my dreams.

This year’s show will be at the House of Blues, right across from Fenway Park, on Saturday, January 9, 2010. Tickets are a mere 40 bucks and go on sale this Friday. This may be your only chance to ever see Peter Gammons and Bun E. Carlos in the same room. You gonna pass that up?

I didn’t think so. See you there. And first round’s on me.
