I approach interleague play the same way I approach a new album from the Black Eyed Peas: utter indifference which turns to disgust as it tightens its grip on the public consciousness. But last night’s Sox-Mets game was a good one, with Commander Kick Ass living up to his title for eight solid innings, an error leading to an unearned run in the first his only misstep. Didn’t work out our way, though, as The Bot coughed it up in the ninth. One pitch changed everything, although a timely hit — Ortiz, Bay, Drew and Lowell were a combined 0-for-15 — might have given us a little more padding. Either way, it was a taut, exciting game on a gorgeous night at Fenway. Who am I to ask for anything more?
