Jay Payton Just Wants Back In Your Head

Or your heart. Or, perhaps, an ankle. Or that old pair of trousers you’re not using anymore. He’s not really picky. He’d just like to play in Boston again.

When I talked to my agent recently, Boston was the first team I mentioned. I don’t know if it’s in the cards or if I squished my chances of ever returning there. I know the circumstances of my departure from there a few years back were blown out of proportion. I’ve talked to Tito several times since then and we’re OK. I’d love the chance to go back there because that’s a winning organization and they’re committed to winning. They do things the right way.

Well, the sweet talk will certainly get you anywhere. But let’s be honest, Cheech. This ain’t happening.

Defensively, he is a solid outfielder with an above average arm, and his quickness getting rid of the ball helps him hold baserunners on the base paths. He can play all three positions in the outfield. Jay lives in North Carolina during the offseason and has a son named Preston who was born in July 2004.-http://drjerryfoster.net/
